The election is finely over and now is the time to focus on the future instead of dwelling on the past. My candidate lost and I'm truly scared for this country and the direction it is heading. I watch the riots happening today in Greece because their government was living beyond its means and I see the future of this country. At some point we will have to severely cut government spending, and the longer we wait, the more painful it will be. I'm not sure why the Democratic party doesn't see that and come up with a plan to fix it.
Raising taxes will be necessary no doubt, but we need to proceed with caution and not target any specific income segment. The burden belongs to all of us, and all of us has a responsibility to future generations to live in a fiscally responsible manner.
I am willing to take a 10% cut in pay or a 10% increase in taxes. It will be hard, but I will adjust my standard of living to accommodate the change. But, if I take a cut, EVERYONE takes a cut. Fair Share has a new meaning when you apply it across the board.
Mr. President, please reach across the isle and stop destroying this country one dollar at a time. Congress, please do the hard right over the easy wrong and stop worrying about the next election and focus on fixing our budget. Cut where you must, tax only when you can cut no more. The future of this nation depends on you all.
